SIRE: Markane (AUS) B. 2000 Red Ransom (USA) - Kew Gardens (FR), by Kenmare (FR)

A striking son of Red Ransom with a proven international pedigree! From one of Australia’s great female families, he was regarded a “speed machine” in a brief racing career hindered and curtailed by injury.

Trained by David Hall at Flemington, he was purchased by one of the best judges of thoroughbreds in John Foote.

In a race programm spanning a mere 5 starts, he ran 2nd to Scaredee Cat (NZ) in the MRC Listed Debutant Stakes before his injury enforced retirement.

A ready made stallion on pedigree, his dam Kew Gardens by Kenmare is a marvellous matriarch. Dam of “speedy” stakes winners Just Awesome and Palia and stakes performers Rainbow Alley, Lady Capel and of course Markane.

Kew Gardens, was an international stakes performer in France, and is related to international sires including Piccolo (GB), a former Eureka Stud sire success.

Markane previously stood at Fred Brown’s Stud, Brown Place, and in 2007 he stands for the first time at Eureka Stud at a fee of $5500 inc gst with free return.
